Our initiatives
SafetyLAB
SafetyLAB is a training designed for professionals in education, health, and workplace safety. Held 2-3 times a year, it is available in both in-person and online formats.
The event aims to create a learning space that fosters the exploration of new educational models, redefines traditional concepts in adult education, and uncovers innovative approaches to enhance the impact of educational practices within companies, with a focus on day-to-day workplace safety and care for life.
This learning ecosystem is built on a foundation of a permanent learning community, collaborative networking, in-depth development sessions, and mentoring.
Since 2018, more than 700 professionals and over 160 companies have participated in SafetyLAB. Below is an impact report showcasing the SafetyLAB program in terms of numbers, objectives, and results.
"Caring is our deal" movement
We believe that the Culture of Care is more than an inspiration for workplaces and high-risk industries. It can be a healthy way of coping with our enormous challenges, such as climate change, poverty, exclusion, violence and so on. The dream behind SafetyLAB and other initiatives here is to contribute to a world in which life is a treasure to be cared for and protected.
In 2021, a non-profit movement called ‘Caring is our deal’ was born from a partnership between SafetyLAB and Peita.me, a local business from Curitiba (Brazil) that aims to display people's longings for a new and better world in their t-shirts, on their chests.
The T-shirts, tote bags and hoodies are available in 3 colours and with the message in Portuguese and English. Hundreds of people and company teams have taken part in this movement, using ‘Caring is our deal’ as an anthem, as a common inspiration. Buy yours at Peita.me. Keynote & Talks
Talks are powerful moments for increasing awareness and mobilizing people. In these moments, we can align our mindsets, enlarge our perspectives of the world and redefine practical routes.
Juliana's talks are one of the most requested in Brazil when the focus is on Culture of Care in the workplace, Safe Behaviors, Care Leadership, Change Management with Mental Health, EHS Learning or Human Factors.
She has been conducting talks and keynotes for 25 years and is known for creating thoughtful, warm and insightful moments of reflection. More than 200 companies and institutions have heard her voice at their events.
In 2020, she took part in TEDx UFPR talking about how to manage crises and change with a Culture of Care approach. Watch the talk (with subtitles in English) here.
Journey of Navigation
As a result of Juliana's private practice in psychotherapy and her philosophical studies, this self-conscious change management approach has been shared with people, professionals, managers and companies as a support for mental health during transformation processes.
This path of caring practices and investigation gave birth to a book called “Gestão da Travessia: aprendendo a viver e a cuidar de si em um mundo de ondas gigantes” (currently in Portuguese only) in 2022 and a TEDx in 2020.

Measuring the results of the transformations we drive through the SafetyLAB ecosystem is part of our identity. In 2024, we set out to map, through a survey with LABers, the impact of the training on the transformation of the care culture within the participating companies.

Safe
Behavior
Seeking to understand the psychosocial dimension of learning for health and safety at work? Psychology has much to contribute to the challenge of building professional environments that respect life, integrity and quality of life for individuals.
-
How do companies train and prepare people to work safely, and what improvements can be made to these learning processes?
"Safe Behavior" by Juliana Bley, a distinguished Brazilian work psychologist, delves deeply into these issues. Published nearly two decades ago yet still relevant, the book examines the challenging aspects of the training practices employed in Health and Safety, and it critiques the interpretations of behavioral concepts in the field.
Drawing on her Master’s studies in Psychology, Bley assesses current practices, revealing a substantial gap between present teaching methods in the field and the latest approaches to adult education. This book is crucial for EHS professionals, HR, and leaders who seek to enhance their learning practice proposals in safety and health in workplaces.
